How to get started as an affiliate marketer ?

The most important thing of being an affiliate is knowing what sort of products to partner with.

Imagine an affiliate is selling a worn jumper and another one is selling a watch. Who has the better product?

Well, it's subjective. You can make a booming business out of either if you know how to market your product.

But, I'll say from experience that it's way better to be the affiliate selling the watch, rather than the worn jumper.

You'll get higher profits for the same amount of work if your product is attractive and solving an issue.

Make sure you're dealing with products that are more profitable, more scalable and life changing for buyers.

If you get the wrong product, the entire foundation of your business as an affiliate could be in jeopardy.

 
Tip #1 - The first step is to choose your affiliate niche. Pick one affiliate niche to focus on. I highly recommend picking a niche you’re already passionate about.

Tip #2 - Next, pick a channel and choose an audience. What does that mean? Well, select an affiliate marketing channel, such as Facebook, blogging, or email. Then, determine what customer audience you want to target. You can start off broad like males over 40… and then get more specific like males over 40 interested in health and fitness.

Tip #3 - Then, join a community and study up! Join a community, such as PowerAffiliate24 Facebook group, to connect and collaborate with other affiliate marketers. I also recommend following successful affiliate marketers to learn their best practices.

Tip #4 - After that, all you need to do is getting your promolink and you’re ready to go! Browse the marketplace listings, choose an offer that fits with your traffic, and start sending to the offers of your choice with your custom promolink. Sometimes it takes a little bit of trial and error to figure out what works best for you. But, don’t get discouraged, the results will eventually come. Approach affiliate marketing like you would any long-term business plan, and before you know it, this side hustle could turn into your full income.


How to create an affiliate marketing website ?

Tip #1 - Define your target audience and choose your blog niche. The best blogs tend to have a similar niche in common. Maybe it is a health and wellness blog, travel blog, or camping and outdoor. Whatever it is, pick a niche that interests you and determine what audience you want to target with your efforts.

Tip #2 - Choose a blog platform to use like WordPress and a domain name. Choose one of the many blogging platforms out there to easily create your blog, and select the domain you want to use. The shorter is the domain, the better.

Tip #3 - Design your blog and populate it with content. Look around and see what the top blogs have in common and pick a design layout that is similar and user-friendly. Then, populate it with content, the more content you can put on your blog, the better. Always make sure the content you are creating and posting matches your audience’s interests!

Tip #4 - Drive traffic to blog content with content linking out to affiliate offers. Just like you would share an affiliate link on your Instagram, you can also link to your blog using your channels like social media, email, and paid ad traffic. SEO is also a good way to get blog traffic. Then, have your blog articles linking out to related affiliate offers.


How to grow and scale an email list ?

Tip #1 - Build the best list to get big results.

You should always segment your list based on who they are and also their engagement. For example, create a segment based on 30-day openers. How you create your segments should be based on your subscriber engagement. You want to aim for at least 20% open rates. Being consistent will also help, meaning how often you are mailing and also your timing.

Deliverability should be a big focus since email marketing only works if your emails are reaching people’s inboxes!

Tip #2 - Let customers decide for themselves.

When you set up your emails, there are a few practices that will help your inbox and ensure that you are also compliant. At the top of every email, I recommend that you include a one-click unsubscribe button. It is not terrible if someone unsubscribes, but it is very bad if someone marks you as spam or makes a complaint.

Make sure you're getting people to reply to your emails. It helps with email reputation and folks engagement allowing them to receive your emails.

Tip #3 - Give valuable content to your audience.

People get bombarded with ads and promotions all the time, so be personable. One thing that helps is emailing as an actual person or persona.

It is important that you give value similar to the reason the person subscribed to your list in the first place. For example, if they opted in on a health supplement, you probably shouldn’t send them golf emails. Instead, help them in their personal health journey, such as sending them complement offers. And it also helps to create related content instead of just sending constant sales emails. When someone first subscribes to your list, you should create a personal automated welcome series that they go through. This should tell them why they are receiving your newsletter. Also, set expectations while building their trust. You can sell to them later, now is not the time. A good welcome series can also be used to build your email reputation and deliverability. So, give them value in the beginning and introduce them to your company and brand.

Tip #5 - Re-engage inactive contacts.

Create a re-engagement journey, similar to a welcome journey, for contacts that have not interacted with your email over a certain amount of time, like no opens after 60 days. These emails should consist of your best performing past subject lines.

Just make sure you re-engage inactive contacts in a controlled way and always clean your contacts first. If you see open rates are low, this could hurt your overall deliverability if you’re using the same sending domain and IP. This can be one of the most lucrative platforms for any business or affiliate to grow and scale if it is done properly.


How to leverage influencers to increase sales of your offer ?

Tip #1 - Find influencers with your target demographic.

Target influencers whose audiences have interests that overlap with your offer. For example, if you have a health and wellness offer, it might be a good idea to collaborate with fitness or nutrition influencers to promote your offer.

Tip #2 - Offer a discount code and/or a custom URL.

Provide influencers with a custom coupon code and/or URL that gives their followers an exclusive discount. It gives their followers an incentive to purchase and helps you track the success of your partnership with the influencer.

Tip #3 - Have them create content using your offer.

Send the influencers your product or program. In exchange, have them create a post or video where they use the product.

Tip #4 - Offer affiliate commission opportunities.

Provide influencers with all the motivation you can to push your offer. By offering a kickback on all the sales they refer, you create long-term earning potential for both you and the influencers you work with.

Tip #1 - Use advanced targeting options to segment your audience based on the location, the age, the gender...etc.

This is one of the most important factors when it comes to having success on YouTube, and that’s because if you are not putting your ad in front of the right audience, all of your hard-earned efforts will go to waste.

 
This is also a great opportunity to think outside of the box. For example, if you are trying to target men over 50 with a health and wellness offer, you can target by age and gender, and also other interests that older men may follow like golfing, race cars, fishing, etc.

Funnel's composition
 
Basically, your funnel should be divided in 3 sections :
 
  • Top of Funnel (ToF)
  • Middle of Funnel (MoF)
  • Bottom of Funnel (BoF)
ToF is all about getting as many people as you can to know you. You only goal here, is to get as many views as possible in order to get as much people as possible in your funnel. You don't need to worry about sells yet.

MoF is all about nurturing. It's a crucial part because if people you're trying to get into your funnel aren't nurtured, they're not going to buy from you. You need to show them that you're an expert at sales in your niche posting valuable content daily.

BoF is all about having an insane amount of proofs, in depth-guides in your niche specific content and results from clients reviews. In that case, people will trust you and buy from you allowing you to make 10x the amount of money you're making no matter how many followers you've on social media.

Proof is the biggest asset to build trust and make sales. It's the best emotional trigger because if a guy is relying to your story, that person is going to buy from you because he's living what you've going through in the past before being successful. So, by joining your coaching program, he will expect to get the same results.

Your content needs to target your specific niche. If you're living the lifestyle that people following you seek for living, you can easily go viral. It's all about assets you have and environment you are living in. For example, if you're in Dubaï driving a Lamborghini and post it, whether it's a liability or not, targeted people in your niche will still be attracted by your content and watch it because it reflects the dream lifestyle they want to live.

When you talk to everybody, you end up talking to nobody. Stay focused on your ability to resonate with people struggling with the same issues you struggled with in the past. Let them know who you truly are on a daily basis by showing them your personality to bring value in your content. Don't forget to engage yourself with your audience through Q&A sessions, it will allow you to get them emotionally connected with you.

People pay for transformation, not for information. These are fundamentals you need to follow every day. Sell them on yourself first as a person, then resonate with them and emotionally connect with them. People won't buy from you if they're not emotionally connected with you because at the end of the day, it's a B2C offer which is selling to human being customers not businesses. Selling a B2C offer, you always want to sell on the emotional aspect.

This process starts with the content itself.

Now, it comes down to selling them on the vehicle.

Reels on Instagram can be used to engage with people, trigger them with a hook on a specific topic to get their attention.

As you should already know, Instagram doesn't make influencers rich, only their audience does.

By saying that, you understand that, in order to live the lavish life influencers are living, you need to build yourself an audience on social media.

If you want to drive people into your funnel, the best thing to do is having a call to action.

Using this method, you want people to comment a keyword in exchange of a link that will lead them to a funnel and give them access to your business model in your coaching program. So, if they're seeking for transformation in their life, they'll end up buying it.

Nowadays, everybody can make millions. They just need to build a personal brand on social media because it's the fastest way to make money. You need to frame people that personal branding is the easiest, the fastest and the best way to live the dream lifestyle, erasing their limitation beliefs by convincing them that's actually possible. From there, the pre-webinar starts flowing and you want to maximize on it using e-mails, stories, communities. Your goal is to hype your audience up, create shows-up and nurture them as much as you can until the date of the webinar.
